Oops! Hostel, opened in September 2007, has already become a Paris favourite with the discerning traveler. The mixture of modern comfort and bold design strokes has given Paris its first contemporary hostel.

Its fresh and innovative look is the creation of interior architect Philippe Maidenberg, and the hotel is also proud to have collaborated with the graphic decorator Daniela Millas.

The Sophie Germain hotel is located in the 14th district of Paris, near the Denfert-Rochereau Place and superb market street called Daguerre. Denfert-Rochereau Place is a central point in Paris and very close to Montparnasse train station. It gives access to tradeshows of Villepinte by RER B (35min) and the Porte de Versailles (15 min). To end with, you are just quite near the center of Paris.

  • Rue Daguerre: the most famous street-market in Paris. Incredible atmosphere. Many coffee shops. Calder had its first workshop at No. 22 . Caesar worked just next door.
  • Catacombs: caves do not exist from early Christians but in the late eighteenth century. New in the visit: Port Mahon gallery is available again after 13 years closed. Open from 10 to 4, except on mondays.
  • Montparnasse: from 1900 is the golden age of artist era: poets, writers, painters, political refugees arriving. Hemingway, Foujita, Soutine, Zadkine, Braque, Chagall, Picasso, Rouault and Klee attend the grand and popular cafés: la Coupole, la Rotonde and la Closerie des Lilas are still there! The School of Paris was quite famous .
